Anne Lockhart (born Anne Kathleen Maloney on September 6, 1953) is an American actor from America. She is most well-known for her portrayal of Lieutenant Sheba in the popular television show Battlestar Galactica (1978-1979). She's the daughter and granddaughter of actors Gene Lockhart. The career of Lockhart began in a young age. Her first role came to her when she was just four years old for T is for Tumbleweed. The film, which was a short one subject, was nominated for an academy award. Her mother took her to the studio where she learned about how the film industry worked. Lockhart was even a part of many Lassie episodes. Dora in Jory in 1973 was her first feature film. The Sixth Sense starred her as the Joan Crawford daughter at age 18. It was Joan's last role as an actor. Anne was reported to have turned down Laurie Strode (John Carpenter's 1978 Halloween thriller) as well as Jaime Lee Curtis took the role. Carpenter said that Anne was his initial selection for the role but she refused. Anne did not recall contact by John Carpenter nor being offered the position. Perhaps one of her representatives decided to decline the job on her behalf without informing the actress. She was initially chosen by Glen Larson who sent her a very preliminary script for an appearance in the 1978 television series Battlestar Galactica. Her initial reaction was to decline the role since the character did not seem to be strong enough. Later Glen created a brand new character exclusively for her featuring an even stronger character called Sheba. The Living Legend, the first twenty-five pages of which she had already read it was immediately embraced. The show ran for only one episode. She co-starred in Joyride with Desi Arnaz Jr., Melanie Griffith (the daughter of Desi Arnaz Jr. and Lucille Bell), Robert Carradine and Melanie Griffith in 1977 and in The Dark Tower with Michael Moriarty (1987).
